As expected, the devotees who attended the feast of the 'black nazarene' this year was again like the sand in the sea.
The number of people who went at the Quirino Grandstand in Quiapo was estimated to be up to 2 million, excluding the devotees who were waiting in the route where the 'black nazarene' passed.
It really needs courage for one to go and celebrate the feast with other devotees in that kind of setting. Because just even looking at it, its very exhausting to see being with all the people trying to get near to the 'black nazarene'. They believe that by just touching any part of the nazarene will bring them blessings and miracles. Or even just being presently there where it is being marched.
These people who believe in the power of the 'black nazarene' have such a great faith. And they believe that it came from God.
But as going through the details of the lives of the devotees, in reality, some of them still have ungodly lives, where when we base in God's Word, the Bible, the things that God really hate.
So it is very puzzling to think that their testimonies about their faith and prayers to God, by devoting themselves to the 'black nazarene' is manifesting in their lives..
This is not intended to attack the devotees of the 'black nazarene' but just to assess it, and know the reality about it.
Like, what about the God's command about idols and images?
Would it be better for us to sacrifice ourselves or something to show as an offering to the God we know or obey what He really tell?
In 1 Samuel, it says, "obedience is better that sacrifice".
So practically, when we go through the Word of God, we will see that we don't need to do many things to please Him, but just to obey what He said.
We don't need to suffer like what Jesus Christ did and be nailed on the cross to be saved, but just to have faith on the same Jesus Christ who died for our sins.
So for us to really know the answers and to know the truth about these things, we really should find it ourselves. and find God.
Until then, keep thinking.. God Bless us all.. ^_^
